About the university
The Zacatecas Occidente Higher Technological Institute is born out of the need of the different sectors of the capital society for the lack of opportunity of Higher Education for all the high school graduates and preparatoria of its locality. This is how the efforts made by different sectors of the population with the Federal and State Educational Authorities become reality. Thus begins on September 4, 2000 in the CBTis 104 Facilities for not having its own facilities, offering the careers in the areas of Engineering in Computer Systems and Industrial Engineering, with 90 and 75 students respectively, giving a total of 165 students. For the beginning was counted on the support of 24 workers, 13 teachers and 11 administrative; Director, Heads of Department, Secretary, Capturitas, etc. Subsequently a land of 20 hectares is achieved with the purpose of starting the construction of the necessary infrastructure to start classes in own facilities. This land was donated by Ejidal authorities on January 14, 2001.
