About the university
In 1966 was created the Specialty of Technician in Electronics; In 1968 the Industrial Technician and, in September 1969, at the request of the technological community, the Industrial Electronics Engineering degree was authorized. With the evolution of the Institute and to respond to the growth of the demand for professional careers of a technical nature on June 6, 1973, construction is authorized for the new technological facilities and on October 18 of that same year, laid the foundation stone Of the construction of the Technological Institute of Nuevo Laredo in a space of 17 hectares of the ejidal lands that occupied the old airport of the city. In June 1974, the first 7 Industrial Engineers graduated in Electronics and on September 16 of the same year the transfer to the new facilities was carried out, being inaugurated by President Luis Echeverría Álvarez, in November of the same year. 1974, the Industrial Engineering in Production, Civil Engineering and Industrial Engineering in Mechanics degrees are authorized.
