With 30 years of educational experience, the Oaxaca Higher Education Institute (IESO) is one of the most prestigious institutions in the state of Oaxaca for excellence in its academic offer. In the eighties the university options were limited because the Autonomous University Benito Juárez of Oaxaca, UABJO, and the Technological Institute of Oaxaca, ITO; They only offered 4 bachelor's degrees. Another purpose that encouraged the creation of the Institute was to contribute to the decline of Oaxacan and Oaxacan youths who migrated to other states in the absence of educational alternatives. It is in this context that the founding of the CESO (Center of Higher Studies of Oaxaca) is given which was incorporated to the UNAM. The first bachelor's degrees in offer were: Anthropology, Psychology, Pedagogy as well as Communication Sciences and Techniques, the latter being the first academic program in Oaxaca. From CESO, which worked for 6 years, graduated 2 generations of students. Subsequently, it changes its name to the Institute of Higher Studies of Oaxaca AC. On September 11, 1985, it receives the Recognition of Official Validity of Studies by Agreement No. 24 of the State Government. Currently, IESO is made up of a large and diverse university community which is its essence and pride. .
