About the university
The Higher Technological Institute of El Grullo began its teaching work in the evening shift with 29 students in the career of Lic. In computer science and 10 students in the career of electromechanical Eng., On March 3, 2003, in the facilities of the College Of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State of Jalisco, Plantel No. 12 El Grullo, domiciled in Quintana Roo No. 74. On September 8, 2002, the coordination agreement was signed for the creation, operation and financial support of the Higher Technological Institute of El Grullo, with the Ministry of Public Education. On July 22, 2004, the Governor of the State, Lic. Francisco Javier Ramírez Acuña, issued decree No. 20555 published in the Official State Journal, with which the Upper Technological Institute of El Grullo was created as an Organism Public Decentralized, with Legal Personality and Own Heritage, based in the city of El Grullo, Jalisco. On April 3, 2006, the Governor of the State Lic. Francisco Javier Ramírez Acuña, granted the appointment as first Director General of the Institute, Mr. Pedro Agustín Durán Leal, taking office on June 2 of the same year.
