Institute of Technology of Mulegé

In 2005, the Governor of the State of Baja California Sur, Engineer Narciso Agundez Montaño, made efforts to create this Institution south of the city of Santa Rosalia.   On August 03, 2005, the State Congress decreed the creation of the Higher Technological Institute of Mulegé, with the appointment of Yolanda Patricia Alvarez Coronado as General Director, on August 10 of that year. Taking protest this same day to the members of the board of directors which was integrated by the following personalities. Chair of the Profra Board. Rosalía Montaño Acevedo, Secretary of Education in the State, Mr. Nabor García Aguirre, Secretary of Finance of the State Government, representing the Federal Government, cc. Ing. Jose Alfredo Lizárraga Díaz, Director of Decentralized Technological Institutes, and Dr. Eduardo Margain Charles, Head of the Office of Educational Services in BCS, by the Municipal Government, Profr. Pedro Graciano Osuna López, President of H. XII City Council of Mulegè, For the Social sector, C.P. Juan Carlos López Aguilar, for the Productive Sector, CC. Profra. Elvia Murillo Escamilla and Profr. Ismael Padilla Palomares, as Public Commissioner, Lic. Francisco Yee Rodríguez, Comptroller of the State Government. In the first instance, the land was donated for construction at kilometer 185 of the Loreto-santa Rosalía road, an estate of 24 hectares by Ing. Ramón Vargas.
