Academy of Music. Grazyna Bacewicz and Kiejstut in Lodz was founded in 1945 on the basis of pre-war musical traditions Conservatory Helena Kijeńska-Dobkiewiczowej. Since its inception, continued to play a significant role in shaping the musical life of the city and the region. Patrons of the Academy are outstanding artists born in Lodz, the famous violinist and composer Grażyna Bacewicz and Kiejstut Bacewicz, her brother, pianist-pedagogue and chamber musician, longtime rector of the University.
