Majors offered with the programme: Musical Composition in Audio-Visual Arts Sound in Games When do you choose your major? In the 1st semester Characteristics of the programme and offered majors: The degree programme is addressed to candidates who want to develop their skills in the areas of creating and processing music and sound. The studies prepare specialists in composition and arrangement, methods of digital sound recording, digital processing, surround sound, voice recording and processing, MIDI equipment and software, as well as audio post production in virtual reality, e.g. in games and educational programmes. The degree programme Music in Multimedia offers two majors: Sound in Games and Musical Composition in Audio-Visual Arts. The aim of the studies is to educate a graduate who professionally performs the craft and composition activity in audio-visual arts understood in a broad sense, and who is prepared for independent creative activity. The degree programme contains a number of practical classes concerning creation of music for the multimedia. The graduate acquires basic skills in the fields of composition, arrangement, instrumentation, techniques of recording production, and the necessary knowledge in general music, humanities and social sciences. The aim of the major Musical Composition in Audio-Visual Arts is to provide specialised preparation for the work of an author of music illustrations (author of the music layer) for audio-visual productions. That aim is realised by developing audio-visual sensitivity, providing theoretical preparation, and teaching the workshop basics. Majoring in Sound in Games prepares specialists in the areas of composition and arrangement, digital methods of sound recording, digital processing, surround sound, voice recording and processing, MIDI equipment and software, as well as audio post production in virtual reality, e.g. in games and educational programmes. Indispensable components of the degree programme are theoretical courses, which allow passing reliable knowledge from the fields of history and theory of music, classical music, harmony, aesthetics, and rules of the functioning of the music market.
