Environmental Administering is an interdisciplinary programme combining education in two areas of science – social sciences and natural sciences. It is a response to the growing environmental problems in the modern world. Therefore, it is a substantive and operational preparation in the field of rational use of environmental resources by current and future generations of people, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. Thus, in order to meet the real market demand, the curriculum of the major Environmental Administering includes the knowledge of environmental administering based on the legal and environmental basics of managing its resources. The aim of the education in the programme is the development of comprehensive competencies, including the application of legal instruments in environmental protection, combined with aspects of practical knowledge in the field of its functioning, supported by administrative competencies. The curriculum enables synchronised education in law and natural sciences in relation to the application of environmental protection instruments. The content of curriculum in the Environmental Administering programme comprises of 3 blocks of modules. The first block, i.e. obligatory modules, allows getting acquainted with the legal basis of administration functioning as a structure directly obliged to use the instruments of environmental protection. Participants gain knowledge about the sources of law, its interpretation and the structure of public administration bodies, and they acquire skills to identify basic processes and phenomena occurring in the environment and factors threatening them. In this group there are also classes where students learn about the instruments and tools used in different branches of environmental law and their practical application. The second block consists of modules presenting tools supporting the implementation of environmental objectives in enterprises (organisations) through management and acquisition of financing for their implementation with respect to elements of the natural environment. The subject matter of elective modules allows broadening the knowledge possessed by the students with regard to legal and environmental aspects of energy, principles of management in protected areas, as well as to participate in pro-seminars and seminars and a specialist laboratory. The third block of classes – diploma modules – includes obligatory and optional modules that are directly related to legal regulation and natural aspects of the application of environmental law instruments.
