Objectives The Licentiate degree in Design (with two fields: in Communication Design and Space and Equipment Design) aims to train creative and technical Designers in the communication, graphic arts, industrial, equipment, space and environmental sectors. We aim to value and develop the students¿ conceptual, creative and technical skills to the maximum, in order to satisfy the demands of the market, as well as suggest alternatives that are more consistent with the existing problems. Consequently, we established a pedagogy that aims to develop students' ability to respond to the problems of Design, linking creative thinking with logical analysis, reporting to the framework required by today's world - respect for the environment and the human dimension (in its various forms), in search of a more inclusive and liveable world for all, using new technologies and the materials available. Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired We aim to structure the development of these skills with the knowledge of art history and design, as well as the tools, methods and techniques of the arts and humanities, that will enable the Designers trained at this University to react to current challenges: efficient and sustainable use of resources, perspective of inclusive design, preservation of ecosystems in an urban environment, among others. Career The Licentiate degree in Design (Communication Design field and Space and Equipment Design field) aims to aims to train creative and technical Designers in the communication, graphic arts, industrial, equipment, space and environmental sectors. Thus, the designers trained at the Lusophone University (¿Universidade Lusófona¿) can find employment in the following areas: Directorates of Communication and Image in businesses and public institutions; Commercial, Design and Marketing Directorates in businesses and public institutions; Departments of Design, Communication and Image of central and local Public Administration (City Halls, Town Halls, etc.) or relevant community organizations (associations, foundations, sports clubs, NGOs, nongovernmental organizations); Design Offices; Advertising Agencies; Public Relations Agencies; Press offices; Web Site Development Companies and Web Site Content Management Companies; Design, Communication and Image Consulting Companies; Teaching institutions (secondary and tertiary level) and research in Design and Communication Sciences Entrance Conditions Candidates who meet the requirements defined in the International Student Statute can apply.
