About the university
University of Kigali is a fully accredited and chartered university by the Government of Rwanda. UoK started its operations in October 2013.the current Chancellor is Dr. David Macrae former Head of Delegation/Ambassador of the European Union to various countries including Rwanda, Fiji, Vanuatu, Nigeria, Tonga, Samoa, Tuvalu, Kiribati and Marshall Islands. The university started operations in October, 2013, with 649 students and has experienced rapid growth in enrolment of more than 4000 students in the undergraduate programmes and more than 500 students in the post graduate programmes. The University has international students from Nigeria, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
