This is the only Philosophy Programme offered in the context of the Galician University System. It offers students the opportunity to pursue university studies in Philosophy through a degree in Philosophy and through the Official Master's Degree in Philosophy by the USC's Faculty of Philosophy. In recent years the number of dissertations submitted, as well as the research projects that support the lines of research have been adequate and consistent and have responded to the current demands of the Euro-Region of Galicia and northern Portugal. Lately there has been close collaboration with professors of Philosophy at the University of Coimbra, in teaching and research matters as well as in academic exchanges. For this reason, a stable position a professor from that University participates in the Programme on a permanent basis. Professors from the faculty of the University of Vigo also participate. The previous doctoral programme (Philosophy: Current Issues) promoted the exchange of professors and doctoral students with the University of Tenri (Japan). The program is included in the USC's International Doctorate School, in accordance with the Regulations of the Doctoral Studies of the USC, which makes it possible to improve its efficiency and management.
