About the university
The Haute École de santé Vaud (HESAV) is one of the seven universities of applied sciences (HES) in the canton of Vaud. It offers tertiary level training in the field of health. Four training streams exist in nursing, physiotherapy, midwifery and medical radiology. Continuous and postgraduate training can complement the studies. The HESAV is the largest health professions training site registered as part of the HES-SO. With more than 800 students divided between the propaedeutic year and the basic training, the school trains about one in five French-speaking Swiss in the paramedical professions. Located close to the University Hospital of Geneva (CHUV), the school is in close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Biology of the University of Lausanne (UNIL), thereby gaining notoriety as to the reputation of doctors and Researchers.
