About the university
The Higher Institute of Sciences and Technologies of the Environment (ISSTE) is a higher education institution specialized in environment in the wide sense of the term. Given the complexity of environmental issues, training within the institute is versatile and interdisciplinary. In some developed countries, there are up to 100 specialties in the field of environment and sustainable development, each of which requires special training. Tunisia, Concerned about the importance of the environment, higher institutes have been created to provide scientific, technical and specialized training that is in tune with environmental problems and strategies. The ISSTE of Borj Cédria is the " One of these institutes which provides students with the necessary training under the LMD to prepare them for the various specialties required in this sector. This institute is part of the Borj Cédria Technopole, specializing in renewable energies, water, environment and plant biotechnology. This technopole brings together various superior institutes (environmental sciences and technologies, computer science and technological studies) and various research centers in these sectors. The first of its kind in Africa, with a capacity of 2,000 students, L'ISSTE was created in 2004.
