This course provides a high quality, broad based education in psychology. It is a conversion course designed for graduates whose undergraduate degree was not accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). The course critically assesses the contribution of psychology to contemporary society. You will be taught by a team with research interests in applied psychology across seven major content areas; Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Biological Psychology, Individual Differences, Research Methods and Conceptual and Historical Issues in Psychology. You will undertake training in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis, you will also conduct your own research project, supported by a subject matter expert. Ethics is an integral part of psychology and you will be taught research ethics and the wider application of ethics to the workplace and society. The course also has some optional module choices, which provide an insight into professional careers including forensic, educational and health psychology for example. This course has been specifically designed for graduates of any discipline and those who have previously studied some psychology in their undergraduate degree, which was not a course accredited by the BPS.
