All Master of Arts programs are instructed fully online and are not eligible for F1 visa approval. Programs Include: Master of Applied Science in Geospatial Information Technologies - The Master of Applied Science in Geospatial Information Technologies (MAS-GIT) program is a designated “Signature Program” at Delta State University. The program is designed to meet the needs of students from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds who have completed an undergraduate degree and seek advanced academic training in geospatial information technologies. It is a fully online degree program that offers students everywhere with flexibility needed for advancing their career without interrupting current work duties. Resources are also available on campus to support learning. The program has attracted students worldwide. -The MAS-GIT program offers advanced coursework, practicum, and independent research opportunities in geospatial science and technologies. Balanced course study and practical learning experience engage students in applying spatial analysis tools to solve a wide range of contemporary problems, such as environment, geospatial intelligence, urban and regional planning, natural resources, ecology, economy, business and more. Master of Arts in Liberal Studies -The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) degree program promotes an interdisciplinary approach to graduate education by offering a diverse set of humanities and social science tracks. This program is designed for students who want to pursue advanced understanding of the nature of societal values and ideals that influence the human condition in the context of past and present human behavior and institutions. -Students are exposed to perspectives that are useful for solving real problems while deciphering major philosophical, cultural, and social concepts about the world around us. MA-LS creates an open, engaging intellectual space for full-time and part-time students from diverse backgrounds and stages in their professional lives. Thanks to a highly qualified and diverse group of faculty and a vibrant, flexible curriculum, the MA-LS program is designed to help scholars sharpen their analytical, critical thinking, writing, and research skills. Master of Arts in Teaching -The Master of Arts in Teaching Program has a two-fold purpose. First, it is designed for promising individuals with non-education bachelor degrees who want to become classroom teachers in elementary grades 4-6 or secondary grades 7-12. Second, it allows for individuals who are interested in teaching, but not seeking licensure to earn a graduate degree. This second purpose enables individuals nationally and internationally to secure a graduate degree in education. Candidates progress through the MAT Program as part of a cohort, a design that will enhance the delivery of University support and promote collaboration in planning, implementation, and evaluation.
