Oblate School of Theology is a Catholic graduate and professional school that provides education in Catholic theology for the church’s mission and ministry in the world. An avenue to bring together different cultures, Oblate empowers through education. OST educates and prepares church leaders – priests, deacons, seminarians, non-Catholic clergy, women religious and lay ministers – for mission and ministry through the integration of pastoral experience and theological study. Oblate School of Theology is a community of scholars and students that respects and celebrates global cultural diversity. Oblate is a community of diverse languages, traditions and backgrounds firmly rooted in Christ. Oblate is a community of missionary disciples who are equipped to “to effectively minister and evangelize the poor in their many faces.” The pastoral orientation of the School requires practical and reflective engagement with the multi-cultural, global reality of church and society. Drawing upon Oblate School of Theology’s location and historical dedication to the Mexican-American presence in the Southwest, the learning, teaching, and research of the School pay particular attention to the diverse and rich Hispanic reality of the Americas.
