Los Angeles Pierce College offers an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. Students must complete all of the required Nursing Program prerequisites prior to applying to the Nursing Program. Prerequisite courses include but not limited to: Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Math, General Psychology, Life Span Psychology, and College Level Reading & Composition. The Nursing Program is accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing. The graduate is prepared to function as an entry-level nurse. Upon completion of the prescribed curriculum, the graduate is qualified to apply for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of California. Students who would like to earn an associate degree and transfer to a university bachelor program can achieve this goal with early educational planning. However, earning an associate degree is not required to transfer.
