Are you interested in teaching but are unsure what major to choose? The Elementary Education Program prepares teachers from a variety of majors to become K-5 educators. We strongly recommend that you major in content areas that are related to what you will teach every day in an elementary classroom—mathematics, literature, science, and social studies. We also recommend considering combined majors such as American Studies and Integrated Science Studies, as these majors give students a breadth of content across a variety of subject areas.
