About the university
The Faculty of Theology of Uruguay, Monsignor Mariano Soler , was canonically erected by decree of the Congregation for Catholic Education on July 22, 2000. This culminates a long process begun more than two centuries ago and a new and future stage is opening. The Faculty of Theology takes its name from this wise Uruguayan, from jealous priest, from this bishop open to the world and in love with Christ, bold beyond all imaginable, humble in everything.
