About the university
The Faculty of Engineering of the University of the Republic is the only public institution of higher education in engineering of Uruguay. Its objective is the training of professionals trained to meet the needs and demands of the productive sector, as well as contribute to the development of society. As part of the University of the Republic, the Faculty of Engineering is responsible, through all its organs, in their respective competences, to increase, to spread and to defend the culture; To promote and protect scientific research and artistic activities and to contribute to the study of problems of general interest and to promote their public understanding; Defend moral values and principles of justice, freedom, social welfare, human rights and the republican-democratic form of government.
