UNA is an institution of Higher Education aimed at training professionals in priority areas of social development, through an open and distance education system, based on modern means of communication. Its headquarters is located in Caracas, but its range of action covers all Venezuelan territory through Local Centers and Support Offices. According to its Statutes, UNA is an institution of public law, endowed with legal personality and its own patrimony, that acts in experimental regime according to the National Constitution and the Laws, corresponding to the provision of the public service of the higher education.
