About the university
Yerevan Gladzor University (YGU) (till 2006 called Gladzor Management University) was founded in 1990, restoring and pursuing the rich intellectual heritage of the great medieval Armenian University of GLADZOR.Within 25 years of its management, the University administrative board, the academic staff and the personnel consistently and firmly have been implementing an educational-academic procedure in compliance with international standard.From 2000 on, YGU is housed in a newly built building with modern amenities. On July 25, 2001, the University was accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia. On March 21, 2015, in accordance with European standards and guidelines YGU was accredited in 4-year term.Since 2006-2007 academic year, credit system of evaluation has been introduced for assessing education process management and learning outcomes. For the purpose of undertaking those initiatives efficiently, between 2007-2011 academic year, Education Reform Center acted in YGU, and from 2012 on, the Quality Assurance Center acts as such to endow with this procedure and to contribute to the created normative base for coordinating the process of credit system.
