About the university
The idea of establishing the East Africa Star University was born in 2011, developed and started to be implemented in April 2012. Its founders developed a strategic master plan whose full implementation will ensure that the University becomes a leading centre of excellence not only in Burundi but also in East Africa. Chattered by the ministry of higher education and scientific research since 2014, the University currently runs two campuses: in Rugombo, Cibitoke Province and in Bujumbura, the economic capital of Burundi.
