About the university
The Protestant University of Central Africa, abbreviated UPAC, is a confessional higher education institution. The decision to create a Protestant University in Central Africa dates back to 1959 in Brazzaville in the People's Republic of Congo During this year, eleven Protestant Churches in Africa and the American and European Mission Societies decided to create a Faculty of Protestant Theology in Yaounde, Cameroon, with a specific mission and specific objectives In the long term. This Faculty was inaugurated on 17 February 1962 by President Amadou Ahidjo, as the first University Institution in Cameroon. The transfer of the former Faculty of Theology to a full University was carried out by the ordinary session of the Administrative Council in 2006. It was endorsed by UPRAC recognition by the Government of the Republic of Cameroon through the arrest N ° 07/0139 of the MINSUP of 21 September 2007 and which also gives the right to the Protestant University of Central Africa to train in the three cycles of the LMD system: Bachelor, Master and Doctorate.
