About the university
The Higher Institute of Translation, Interpretation and Communication (ISTIC) of Yaoundé was born in November 2006 of the will of 12 professionals, translators and conference interpreters, all graduates of the Superior School of Interpreters and Translators ( ESIT) of Sorbonne University Paris III in France (promotion 1992-1997), which have joined forces to create in Cameroon another school to train translators, conference interpreters and linguistic engineering specialists . ISTIC began its courses in January 2007 under the supervision of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training. An approval file was then submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education. At the end of an initial inspection, the authorization was issued in November 2008. A mission of experts from the Ministry of Higher Education inspected the infrastructure and programs of ISTIC in August 2009. Following this Inspection team, another team of experts from the University of Buéa also inspected the infrastructure and programs of ISTIC. In May 2009, at the end of these inspections all conclusive, the University of Buéa and ISTIC Of Yaoundé signed an agreement of academic guardianship on 24 November 2009, initialed and approved by the Minister of Higher Education on 12 February 2010. At the end of this agreement, under the academic supervision of the University of Buéa, More precisely of the ASTI, its school of translators interpreters, ISTIC of Yaoundé offers the following trainings.
