About the university
The School of Health Sciences (ESS) is an institute of higher education created in 2007 by the Catholic University of Central Africa (UCAC) to replace the School of Nursing Sciences of Yaounde (ESIY). Historically, the ESS was the Private Catholic School of Nurses of Yaounde (EPCIY). This school, created by the Sisters of the Society of Jesus Christ, was approved by the Ministry of Health and Population in 1959. The ESS is now organized into two divisions: - The Division of Personnel Training of the Ministry of Health: it is the latter who organizes the entrance examination for the candidates of his / her tutelage and delivers the different diplomas; - The ESS, under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, organizes the admission competitions itself. The diplomas are issued by the UCAC and recognized by the Cameroonian State.
