About the university
Sichuan Conservatory of Music referred to as Sichuan, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a "music" as the main characteristics of the provincial full-time ordinary undergraduate institutions of higher learning for China's nine independent set of professional high school of music, with a master's degree (MFA) professional degree granting unit approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. Sichuan Conservatory of Music was founded in 1939, "Sichuan Provincial Drama Education Experimental School", then after the "Sichuan Provincial Music Experimental School", "Sichuan Provincial Technical College", "Sichuan Provincial Art College" In 1959, approved by the Ministry of Education, the school upgraded and renamed the Sichuan Conservatory of Music; in 1986, the school made a master's degree granting power. According to the school website in April 2016, the Sichuan Conservatory of Music has Jinjiang Campus and Xindu Campus. The total area is more than 1,200 acres. There are 31 teaching faculties, ; There are more than 2,000 faculty members, all kinds of students in more than 14,000 people.
