About the university
Tianjin Conservatory of Music is an important institution of art education for the development of music, dance, drama and film and television professionals in the north of China. The school is the first batch of master's degree granting units approved by the State Council for the construction of experimental base for overseas graduate students in Tianjin. The school was founded in 1958, the predecessor was founded in 1950 in Tianjin, the Central Conservatory of Music, in 1959 July, the Central Conservatory of Music (part of Tianjin) renamed the Tianjin Conservatory of Music. In 1973, renamed Tianjin Art Institute. In 1980, approved by the State Council, the official resumption of Tianjin Conservatory of Music, separate art part of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
