About the university
The Free University of Luozi (ULL) is a private university of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located in the territory of Luozi (Manianga), Bas-Congo. The main objective of the university is the promotion of the social and economic welfare of the rural population in the Luozi region. The university sees the implementation of ICT as a key factor for the development of this region, where the digital divide is even bigger than in the urban centres of Congo. In 2003, Close the Gap decided that supporting the ICT programme of the university would be their first project. Thanks to the computers, the university could organize ICT and internet courses for its teachers, students and administrative workers.
