About the university
The University of Kalemie (UNIKAL) is a public university in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located in Katanga province, Tanganika district, Kalemie city. At its creation, it was an "Extension of the University of Lubumbashi" and was then called "University Center of Kalemie (KU)". It has nearly 800 students in six faculties. Its rector is Adalbert Sango Mukalay, who succeeds Alexandrine Kisimba Kya Ngoy from 11 March 2016. His teaching language is French.
