The main aim of the programme is to introduce the students with the most up-to-date developments in the area of the computer engineering and to provide them with the fundamentals of computer applied sciences and software development. During the four-year undergraduate programme, along with the basic courses on computer software, hardware and computer networks, Computer Engineering Programme offers aims to bring up graduates who are able to analyze, design modern computer software, hardware and information systems. In addition to basic introduction courses such as Mathematics and Physics, the Department also offers a wide range of department related elective courses which include graphic design, artificial intelligence, web technologies, data security or various programming languages. Some of these courses are offered by our sister department, the Department of Software development. While all technical courses are applied, the technics required to complete all term projects are up to date. All students are offered education using the latest in software and hardware technology, with a computer provided for each students at all computer labs. More importantly the school library offers a wide range of digitally stored sources, databases and research materials Students who successfully graduate from the Department of Computer Engineering may find jobs as system analysts, software developers, system programmers, test/quality engineers, database administrators, computer system engineers or game developers. Since we live in the computer age and our lives are becoming more and more dependent on computers, there is a constantly growing demand for computer engineers and graduates from the field. All our graduates can find employment anywhere in the world or if they chose may pursue an academic career by obtaining a M.Sc and/or PhD degrees. Educational Objectives: Students graduating from Computer Engineering Department are expected: EO1 : To be Computer Engineers who are able to build careers in both national and international organisations that are significant to the field, within the areas of hardware and software. EO2: To be Computer Engineers that are able to participete successfully in research and development areas in national and international universities. EO3: To be Computer Engineers, who become entrepreneurs or reach leadership positions (project managers, team leaders, directors or managers) in the areas of Computer and Information Systems. EO4: To be graduates who can take part in the projects of various fields, within a team or individually .
