About the university
Newport International University was founded in 1976 in California. In the spirit of its motto, "Dedicated to Global Education" expanded soon after its establishment in many countries of the world. Currently it has 25 learning centers. In 1991, it expanded its reach also to Czechoslovakia when it was founded its branch in Ostrava. After the division of the license transferred to two separate states. This is the first direct branch of the American university in the former Eastern Bloc.
