About the university
The Pedagogical University of El Salvador "Dr. Luis Alonso Aparicio "is a private corporation of public interest of a permanent non-profit nature, attached to the Law of Higher Education and other laws and regulations in force that regulate university higher education in El Salvador. (Article 1 Statutes of the University). Founded in the city of San Salvador, its Constitution Act was signed on March 16, 1982 and it is July 26, 1982 that its Statutes are approved, according to agreement No. 2239 of the Education Branch, the day on which the university celebrates his anniversary. It is in 2012, that in honor of its founder is nominated Pedagogical University of El Salvador "Dr. Luis Alonso Aparicio ", according to executive agreement No. 15-0164. The academic activities of the University began with the Faculty of Education in its facilities located at 7ª Avenida Norte and Alameda Juan Pablo II. To attend to the growing student population, the University progressively extends its infrastructure, as a lease, to four campuses located in the same area, in the northern sector of the historic center of the city of San Salvador.
