About the university
In 1981, a year of great events for the political, educational, cultural and social life of El Salvador, it was the moment when a group of professionals from the country decided to create a "new" institution that would be able to offer educational services at the level Of higher education, with quality and academic excellence and with the essential component of accessibility to university studies for people who in those days could only dream of becoming useful professionals to their homeland. The initial idea of the group was to get the University to all the regions of the country, where at that time, receiving Higher Education was a very difficult aspiration to be fulfilled. With this concept, the University began its work in the cities of San Salvador, Sonsonate, Santa Ana and San Miguel. In the last months of that same year, also the University Center was established in the City of Usulután.
