About the university
The New San Salvador University "UNSSA" was born in the midst of a political and social convulsion that announced apocalyptically, the tragic and bloody war that would mourn for our country, and is constituted especially by the need to open new institutions of higher education, before the Frequent closures of the University of El Salvador. It arises with the aspirations of peace, freedom and culture, convinced that there can be no authentic peace if justice and order do not exist in our country; That there can be no freedom if ideas contrary to their own are not respected and the initiative of the weakest is chained and underestimated, and that the University as a university of ideas, and therefore, in an environment of ideological balance, should not only instruct , But above all must culturizar to the new student generations, For that reason is based on its motto: "Peace with Freedom and Culture". He began his teaching activities in January 1980, and obtained his legal status on November 23, 1981.
