Suomen ja sen sukukielten maisteriohjelma Maisteriohjelman kohderyhmänä ovat ei-äidinkieliset, kandidaatintutkinnon ulkomailla tai Suomessa suorittaneet suomen kielen ja muiden suomalais-ugrilaisten kielten opiskelijat. Ohjelman pääasiallinen opetuskieli on suomi. Maisteriohjelman tavoitteena on syventää opiskelijan suomen kielen teoreettista ja käytännön tuntemusta ja perehdyttää hänet Suomen kulttuurin osa-alueisiin kytkemällä tiedot laajempaan kielitieteelliseen ja fennougristiseen kehykseen, niin että hän voi toimia suomen kielen ja suomalaisen kulttuurin asiantuntemusta vaativissa tehtävissä Suomessa tai ulkomailla. Maisteriohjelmasta valmistuvat voivat sijoittua esimerkiksi opetus-, käännös-, kulttuuri- tai talouselämän tehtäviin riippuen heidän kandidaattiopintojensa sisällöstä tai maisteriohjelman sisällä tekemistään valinnoista.
