At the Catholic University of North-Rhine Westphalia ( KatHO NRW ), approx. 4200 students, dv. approx. 3700 women (as of 10/2014). They are accompanied by 111 professors, 9 teachers for special tasks, 244 teaching staff, 21 academic staff at academic qualification posts (QM program) and 109 employees of the administration. 42 scientific staff are employed in third-party projects (as of 10/2014). 87% (excluding the Department of Theology: 100% funding by the federal state of NRW) of € 16 million (as of 2013) are refinanced from tax funds . The university's annual budget amounted to € 19.8 million in 2014; Third-party spending amounted to approx. 900tsd. €. The KatHO NRW was founded in 1971 as a Catholic University of Applied Sciences NW (KFH NW) and thus belongs to the Fachhochschulen of the first founding wave in Germany. It has emerged from the merger of 14 higher specialized schools for social work, social pedagogy and curative education, as well as an institute for religious education in Catholic organizations. In some cases the predecessor institutions can be traced back to 1916. In 2011, the 40th anniversary was celebrated in Cologne (commemorative:.
