About the university
Fresenius University grew from the year 1848 Carla of Remigia Fresenius founded the chemical laboratory of Fresenius and has more than 160 years of tradition of education in private property in Germany back. This makes it the oldest educational institution of its kind in the field of chemistry. In the spirit of its founder Karl Remigia Fresenius, it combines training, research and practice. The name Fresenius stands for practice-oriented learning with this closely related applied research and development. This applies to the traditional department of chemistry and biology, as well as for the two 1997/98 newly established departments of health and social and business and media, and also for 2013, a new design department has been built. On this basis, in consultation with industry partners and in a dialogue with Fresenius' associations, alumni and students, the University continues to develop its service offerings and its strategic direction. It gives equal weight to the goals of sustainable development and innovation. The motto of Fresenius University is "to teach practical and research, lively internationalism, encouraging students and promoting!"
