About the university
The NORDAKADEMIE is the first state-recognized private university to be directly founded and funded by business (Hochschule der Wirtschaft). It offers practice-based courses of study and outstanding conditions and high success rates. With over 2000 students and over 300 partner companies it is also one of the largest private on-site universities in Germany. The Nordakademie was founded in 1992 on the initiative of the economy and started its studies in 1993 in Pinneberg . The study program included the three dual degree courses in economics, business administration and business informatics. The founding rector was Georg Plate. In March 2012 the NORDAKADEMIE was the first university in northern Germany to achieve institutional accreditation.
