About the university
Mesoamerican University is a private and secular institution of higher education in Guatemala, member of the network of Salesian University Institutions (IUS), recognized and approved by the Council of Private Higher Education of Guatemala (CEPS). Taking advantage of the university experience and development that had been achieved, the process of founding a new university began in 1996. On October 1, 1999, the Mesoamerican University was approved by the Council of Private Higher Education of Guatemala. The year 2000 began to operate the new university with the Faculties of Human and Social Sciences and Sciences of the Social Communication. A year later, in a strategic alliance with the Association of Managers of Guatemala, ESAG is created, Higher School of High Management, to teach Masters. In 2002, 15 races of the city of Quetzaltenango were merged as part of the Mesoamerican University. The year 2003 is authorized the Faculty of Medicine in this place.
