About the university
In Guatemala, work began in the years 1950 to 1952, in the development of ideas and in some pioneering experiences that increased the knowledge of the human factor and its implications in the field of attitudes, interests and behavior towards work. These experiences and ideas must be considered precursors and those that gradually led to the emergence in 1955 of the GUATEMALA CENTER FOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT. Located in the 8a. Avenida 10-43, zona 1, Guatemala City. Subsequently, in May - June of 1956 he moved to the 6th. Avenida 5-34, zona 1 (next to the National Palace). In May 1964, the CDPI was created, replacing the CFPI, as a decentralized state entity with functional autonomy, own funds, private funds and capacity to operate for the achievement of its purposes. The financing of the CDPI is given through: a state allocation, a private tax, payments and quotas of the private initiative, for services rendered and donations or contributions of the private initiative and national or international institutions. Its main functions were to cooperate with the State and private initiative to stimulate the economy, acting as a link between both sectors to promote productivity.
