About the university
On the basis of a preliminary agreement with the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium), IUSE / CREFI was created in 1988 in Port-au-Prince by Professor Jean Elie LARRIEUX with a group of professors from the Université d The State of Haiti. The Haitian state via the Ministry of National Education gave its official approval dated July 8, 1991 (letter # C.I.953). From its inception, IUSE / CREFI has developed training, research, consultancy and psychosocial interventions targeted in particular at. Research, training and consultancy are generally sponsored by the Ministry of Education and other Ministries. In 1990, for example, at the request of the Ministry of National Education and with the support of the World Bank, CREFI contributed to the distance training of 3,000 teachers by developing teaching materials for this purpose (fascicles And tapes) covering the topics of classroom management and reading methodology.
