About the university
The University of Port-au-Prince (UP) was founded in 1983 under the name of the Institute of Management and Accounting (IGC). Its creation is a concerted effort by a team of academics of professors and researchers, who want to make their knowledge and know-how available to the greatest number of baccalauréat holders who wish to pursue their studies at the university level. It currently has a staff of five thousand (5,000.00) students in the following institutes and faculties: the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sciences Informatiques and the Institute of Political Sciences. The University of Port-au-Prince (UP) is oriented towards the development and development of human resources in order to promote the economic, political, cultural and social development of Haiti. Since its twenty and four years of operation, all its activities have focused on the development strategy of the Haitian Man as a real subject of sustainable development with the integration of the cultural dimension. By training its students at universally accepted university levels, the UP in its teaching approaches privileges the Haitian cultural identity.
