About the university
To meet the growing needs of university education in the country and particularly to complete the cycle of academic training offered to young episcopalians and other young people, the Episcopal Church of Haiti has made the determination to found the HAITI EPISCOPAL UNIVERSITY UNEPH) in order to make an original contribution within the network of university education in Haiti. In order to strengthen teaching at the scientific, technical and vocational level, the Episcopal University of Haiti, this important instrument of culture, study and research was created in 1995 to make higher education accessible to All those seeking high-level training. Indeed, in October 1995, Dr. John VELDHIUS, founder of the University, welcomed 15 students to the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences. Today there are about 1685 students enrolled in 6 faculties. Originally operating at Collège Saint-Pierre under the first name of Université Jacques Theodore Holly, it was transferred in 1997 to its current site at Rue Légitime. The Episcopal University of Haiti is a member of CUAC (Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion). It aims to develop the various programs leading to professional careers: Education, Psychology, Social Service, Theology, Nursing, Development, Computer Science, Agronomy, Chemistry, Political Science, etc. It also intends to offer, Teaching of the various fundamental disciplines in the fields of pure sciences and health sciences as well as the humanities, arts and letters. Flexible structures, quality education and decentralized administration, programs are key factors that UNEPH wants to promote in order to promote the expression of the dynamism of the grassroots, the establishment of a tradition of openness, Innovation and adaptability to change.
