About the university
In an era where only the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) existed, he dreamed of creating the country's first Private University; Thus, in mid-1976 a group of distinguished Hondurans organized as the Honduran Association for the Promotion of Higher Education (AHFES) met to develop the Project that would revolutionize higher education in Honduras: the creation of the University José Cecilio del Valle, which was very well received by many sectors of Honduran society and by international organizations, which envisaged an opportunity for the country's higher education, which would allow the formation of qualified human resources. The José Cecilio del Valle University (UJCV) opened its doors to the world of higher education on February 23, 1978. Its inauguration was attended by representatives of the Diplomatic Corps and International Organizations, distinguished businessmen, intellectuals and numerous people who offered their Sympathy and moral support for its foundation.
