About the university
University of Bengkulu (UNIB) was established based on Presidential Decree No. 17 of 1982 and inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. David Yusuf. At the same time inaugurated the first UNIB Rector, Prof. Ir. Soenjoto Sumodihardjo (UGM) for the tenure of 1982-1986. Dr. Ir. Soekotjo (UGM), formerly Vice Rector I, led UNIB for the period 1986-1990. For the period 1990-1995 Dr. Ir. Nitza Arbi (UNAND) was entrusted to lead UNIB. In 1995 until 2005 the position of UNIB Rector was held by Prof. Dr. H Zulkifli Husin, SE, M.Sc. (UNSYIAH) .Since 2005 to 2013 Rector UNIB held by Prof. Ir. Zainal Muktamar, Msc., Ph.D. On October 4, 2013 was appointed Dr. Ridwan Nurazi, SE, M.Sc., Ak as the Rector of the 6th Bengkulu University.
