About the university
Mercu Buana University of Yogyakarta (Yogya UMB) which formerly stood by name IPWI (Institute of Agricultural House of Mangala Indonesia), which later changed its name to University House of Mangala (UNWAMA) in 1986 and changed its name to Mercu Buana University in Yogyakarta in 2008. Name of University House of Mangala (UNWAMA) was born on October 1, 1986 under the auspices of the Foundation House of Mangala. At the time established UNWAMA has three faculties with 4 majors, as rector Prof. Ir. Tjitrorosoepomo kingpin (late) Professor of the Faculty of Biology, University of Gadjah Mada (UGM). As an academic experience, he has laid a strong foundation for the development of UNWAMA.
