About the university
The objective reason for establishing UMT among the lamin is the realization of YBMJ's positive response to the lack of university education facilities in Indonesia. The forerunner of the establishment of Mpu Tantular University started with a brief but deep dialogue between the Chairman of Budi Murni Education Foundation, Prof.DR.KP.T. Sinambela Kusumonagoro with several educational leaders in Jakarta in March 1983. At the meeting it was agreed to prepare a plan for the establishment of a Private Higher Education (PTS) in accordance with its stages, followed by the increasing number of thinkers and workers who can be classified as the main pioneer, even a founding Father UMT.
