About the university
Established in 1963, Universitas Negeri Medan (State University of Medan) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the the urban setting of the large city of Medan, North Sumatra. Officially accredited/recognized by the Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) is a large coeducational higher education institution. This 54 years old H.E. institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. UNIMED also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sport facilities and/or activities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
