About the university
One of the commitment of Yayasan Pendidikan Datuk Bandar (YPDB) in improving human resources in the field of education is to establish Sekolah Tinggi Ekonomi Sri Gemilang in Tembilahan. High School of Economics, Directorate General of Higher Education of Department of Education and Culture No. 2559 / D / TR / 97 dated October 20, 1997 as well as the continuation of higher education in Indragiri Hilir Regency. Its stance is based on Letter of Recommendation of Kopertis X (West Sumatera - Riau - Jambi) Number: 287/004 / KL / 1999 dated 23 April 1999 and result of assessment and observation of Directorate General of Higher Education Depdikbud RI in July 1999, which then poured in Minister of Education Decree No. 17 / D / O / 1999 dated July 13, 1999 on Establishment of Sekolah Gemilang Economics of Sri Gemilang in Tembilahan.
